The Company
ROC Consulting is partnering with a leading organisation in the
waste management and resource recovery industry
, delivering essential services to commercial, industrial and municipal clients throughout the Central & Hunter region.
Known for operational strength, regulatory compliance, safety leadership and strong community relationships, the organisation is expanding and seeking a proven regional leader to manage performance across multiple sites.
The Position
The General Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for the operational, financial and people management of multiple business units. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead a large workforce, oversee regional operations, ensure compliance, drive commercial outcomes and execute strategic business initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading regional waste management operations, ensuring safety, compliance and service excellence
* Managing budgets, forecasting, resource allocation and financial performance
* Monitoring operational data to identify risks, opportunities and improvements
* Overseeing stakeholder relationships, including councils, regulators, customers and internal teams
* Driving WHS and NHVR compliance across all operations
* Leading, coaching and developing supervisors, managers and frontline teams
* Driving growth, cost reduction, process optimisation and cultural alignment
* Representing the organisation within the community and industry
The Package
A strong executive package is offered:
* Salary up to $200,000 + Super
(negotiable depending on experience)

The Candidate
You will ideally bring:
* Proven experience managing multi‑site operations in
waste management, transport, logistics or heavy industry
* Strong financial and commercial acumen, including budget management
* Demonstrated ability to lead large blue‑collar workforces
* Experience engaging with councils, regulatory bodies and community stakeholders
* Strong command of safety, compliance and operational systems
* Expertise in contract management and delivering strategic outcomes
* Ability to lead change, improve processes and build a high‑performance culture
