Core Talent are currently working with a leading Tier 2 Electrical contractor who is now expanding their team and are seeking an experienced/senior Electrical Estimator to join their team, tending for projects up to $10m.
As Estimator, you will play a critical role in the preparation and evaluation of detailed cost estimates for our projects. This is a key position that requires a deep understanding of project scopes, budgets, and timelines, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, leadership experience, and a proven track record in estimating small to large‐scale projects.
Sectors include: Commercial, Aged Care, Government, Educational and Industrial.
Roles & Responsibilities
* Review and analyse project drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
* Participate in pre‐tender meetings and site inspections where required.
* Prepare accurate and competitive electrical cost estimates, including labour, materials, and equipment.
* Price construct‐only and Design & Construct (D&C) tenders.
* Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.
* Utilise estimating software and historical cost data to improve tender accuracy.
* Identify project risks, constraints, and opportunities during the tender phase.
* Identify and develop value management and value engineering opportunities to optimise cost, programme, and constructability outcomes.
* Collaborate within internal & external teams and consultants.
* Prepare complete tender submissions, including pricing schedules and supporting documentation.
* Ensure all estimates comply with relevant Australian Standards, codes, and regulations.
* Review and refine estimates to minimise errors, omissions, and discrepancies.
* Provide cost analysis and reporting to management.
* Prepare and submit monthly KPI reporting.
Requirements
* Minimum 3 years' experience as an Electrical Estimator.
* Proven success tendering electrical projects ideally up to $5m‐$10m.
* Electrical trade qualification or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
* Proficiency in estimating tools such as SimPRO, Bluebeam Revu, and Groundplan.
* Current Construction Induction Card (White Card).
* Current Australian driver's licence.
Salary: $150k to $180k + super + perks (negotiable for the right person)
