Court Security Manager
As part of the Ventia contract with the Department of Justice, we are seeking a Court Security Manager to lead the team in Broome. Reporting to the Assistant Director, the role will provide vital support and assistance in the delivery of an effective and efficient court operation. The position is full‑time, permanent, and requires occasional flexibility around working hours due to the operational nature of courts.
Your Duties Will Include (but are not limited to)
Liaise with Court Officials in the area to ensure contractual requirements are met.
Ensure suitable and sufficient resources are available in the Court and Custody areas.
Inspect and monitor court operations to ensure compliance.
Deliver a high standard of service delivery whilst constantly maintaining staff and Person in Custody (PiC) welfare, safety and security.
Ensure all warrants are checked in line with documented procedures.
Inspect and check Court premises to ensure the effectiveness and tidiness of security systems.
Maintain emergency procedures and ensure that staff are aware of their responsibilities.
Monitor the submission of incident reports within the required timeframes.
Set clear direction and objectives for direct reports.
Represent Ventia at Court User Group Meetings.

Skills and Experience
Certificate III or IV in Corrective Practice or a related field.
Control and Restraint qualified.
Senior First Aid and CPR or equivalent.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret correspondence, legislations and regulations.
High level of computer skills and report writing.
Proven experience in a leadership role.
A collaborative management style and the ability to forge highly productive internal and external working relationships.
Demonstrated experience in an escort custody operational environment.
High focus on safety and security awareness.
Personable and professional, with a strong capability to remain objective, unbiased and balanced in challenging environments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare briefs, letters, emails and reports using clear, concise and correct language.
Mandatory Requirements
Australian Permanent Resident or Citizen.
Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Federal Police Check, Criminal History Check, and Working with Children Check.
Ability to complete 6‑weeks full‑time training in Perth prior to start (flights and accommodation provided).
Undergo a pre‑employment medical including a drug and alcohol test.
Manual Driving Licence – Desirable (HR, MR licence or F Extension category highly desirable for operating vehicles carrying passengers).
Willingness to travel (road and air).
Ability to maintain a reasonable level of fitness to undertake the inherent requirements of the role.
What We Offer
$107,431 total fixed remuneration (Base Salary plus Super).
$10,189 extra Per Annum Regional Allowance.
