A Restoration Technician is responsible for attending insurance loss sites and completing restoration works following water, fire, mould, storm or flood damage. Role is hands‑on, site-based and client-facing. Candidate must be reliable, presentable and comfortable working in occupied homes and commercial sites.
Role type: Full-time, permanent
CORE DUTIES
* Attend insurance claim sites (residential & commercial)
* Water extraction, drying, dehumidification
* Set up and monitor drying equipment (air movers, dehumidifiers)
* Strip‑out works: carpets, skirting, plaster, cabinetry (non‑structural)
* Mould remediation & fogging (if trained)
* Cleaning & deodorisation after fire/smoke damage
* Daily job photos, moisture readings & basic reporting
* Liaise with supervisors, insurers & customers onsite
* Manual handling and physical work daily
* On‑call / after‑hours work may be required (rotating roster)
MUST‑HAVE REQUIREMENTS
* Valid Australian driver's licence (company vehicle provided)
* White Card
* Physically fit & comfortable with labour‑intensive work
* Good communication – must deal with homeowners directly
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
* Willing to travel within local region
* Police check / background check (insurance requirement)
* Comfortable with PPE, confined spaces & dirty environments
HIGHLY REGARDED / IDEAL BACKGROUND
* Previous experience in:
o Restoration / insurance works
o Water damage / flood recovery
o Fire or mould remediation
o Demolition, labouring, construction, or maintenance
* Trade assistant, handyman, or building services background
* Experience using moisture meters & restoration equipment
