About the Role
Girton Grammar School – a leading independent school in Bendigo – is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Receivable & Payroll Officer to join our Finance team.
In this pivotal role you will manage all aspects of accounts receivable support, payroll processing and contribute to the financial health of our vibrant school community.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare, issue and process invoices for school fees, excursions, co-curricular activities and more.
Communicate with parents and families regarding payment options and outstanding accounts.
Monitor payment plans, process scholarships and manage payment arrangements (including EdStart).
Oversee debt collection processes and liaise with the Finance Manager / CFO as needed.
Assist with budget coordination, financial reporting and annual audits.
Support payroll functions (approx. 20% of the role) including onboarding, leave calculations and payroll queries.
Maintain accurate financial and payroll records.
Provide financial and budgetary advice to staff.
Ensure compliance with statutory obligations and school policies.
Key Selection Criteria
Qualifications and / or experience in accounting or bookkeeping, ideally in a similar environment.
Experience in accounts receivable / payable and invoice management.
Strong understanding of financial management principles, FBT and GST.
Excellent ICT skills and experience with financial data systems.
Outstanding communication and customer service skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Commitment to student wellbeing, child safety and confidentiality.
