A key role exists for a Senior Cyber Security Specialist within the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).
Key Details
* Contract duration: 12 months, with potential extensions.
* Location: Australian cities including Canberra, Sydney, Darwin, Brisbane, Adelaide, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth, and offsite positions.
The position involves high-level work, requiring broad direction to deliver quality outcomes across various technology functions within the NDIA.
This senior role is crucial to the agency, holding delegated authority and responsibility to address issues and risks in complex activities involving significant detail.
The successful candidate will provide leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management, and decision-making, while actively managing internal and external stakeholder relationships.
Main Responsibilities
1. Lead and conduct risk assessments of internal systems, evaluating risks from external connections.
2. Undertake compliance activities related to cyber security standards within the agency.
3. Develop and contribute to implementing initiatives aimed at reducing technology risk, improving governance, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
4. Establish and maintain IT security standards, policies, procedures, and controls to manage risks.
5. Support business areas by ensuring stakeholders address relevant compliance standards, such as the PSPF, ISM, Agency Risk Management Frameworks, and incident management disciplines.
6. Complete and investigate information security risk and exceptions assessments, documenting and reporting control failures and gaps to stakeholders.
Requirements
1. Minimum five years' experience with Australian Government governance concepts, focusing on ICT, policy/standards development, framework documentation, and reporting to senior executives.
2. Strong oral and written communication skills.
3. Ability to mentor and provide expertise within a team environment, engaging confidently with internal/external stakeholders.
