Allied Credit is a leading vehicle finance firm with strategic alliances with global car, marine and motorcycle brands. Offering white label, joint venture and floorplan finance, our proprietary software provides a seamless, convenient and customer-focused finance service to consumers and businesses.
We are seeking an Application Cloud Engineer for a senior technical role focused on designing, implementing, and optimising secure, scalable and cost-effective Microsoft Azure solutions across Allied Credit. It requires hands-on platform engineering and automation to enable development teams while ensuring compliance, resilience and operational excellence. The role collaborates with architects, delivery teams, and support functions to align cloud platforms with business objectives and regulatory requirements for production-critical systems.
What you will be doing
* Designing and implementing practical, secure Azure application solutions within the organisation’s established infrastructure reference architecture, developing reusable patterns to support consistent, resilient and cost-effective deployments.
* Building and maintaining platform components and automation using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Bicep and Azure DevOps pipelines.
* Design and manage CI/CD pipelines with integrated security and compliance checks for efficient delivery.
* Configuring and optimising Azure networking (VNets, VPN, NSG, Private Endpoints) and implement secure connectivity patterns.
* Applying best practices for identity, access management and data protection, enforcing security controls across all layers.
* Implementing monitoring, alerting and disaster recovery solutions to ensure system reliability and proactive incident management.
* Creating clear architecture diagrams, technical documentation and operational guides, and communicating effectively with stakeholders.
* Providing technical leadership and mentorship, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.
* Offering 3rd-level support and assisting in production incident resolution, contributing to post-incident reviews and cost optimisation.
Your background
* Proven experience as a Cloud Architect or Platform Engineer in enterprise environments.
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Azure services (Compute, Storage, Networking, Security).
* Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, YAML pipelines and Bicep/ Terraform templates.
* Solid understanding of networking concepts (VNets, Subnets, NSGs, routing) with knowledge of cloud security principles and compliance frameworks.
* A past career as a .NET Developer and experience with Kubernetes for deploying App Services would be viewed favourably.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to produce high-quality diagrams and documentation.
* Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience working in the Finance and Banking industry would be desirable but it is not essential.
