Ever dreamt of a fun and creative job working behind the scenes of one of Australia’s biggest short film festivals?
Flickerfest, Australia’s leading Academy and BAFTA-qualifying short film festival, is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Flickerfest Production Assistant to join our passionate and dedicated team.
Working closely with the Festival Director and Manager and coordinator, you'll play a vital role in supporting the team across all areas of the festival, from research and administration to liaising with creatives and stakeholders. We’re looking for a hands-on team player who’s happy to roll up their sleeves, take initiative and pitch in wherever needed.
Your excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills and love for the arts will help contribute to the continued success of Flickerfest and its vibrant celebration of short film.
Key Selection Criteria:
* Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a steady and collaborative work environment.
* Excellent attention to detail and time management, with the ability to work independently and professionally.
* Proficiency in using spreadsheets (Excel, Google Sheets) for tracking, organising and reporting on festival data and administration.
* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging with filmmakers, sponsors, government and corporate stakeholders, as well as our festival team, designers, publicists and digital marketing partners.
* A collaborative and flexible attitude, you’re a true team player who enjoys supporting others and working together to get the job done.
* A genuine passion for cinema and the arts, with a strong appreciation of Flickerfest’s role in nurturing the next generation of Australian film talent.
* Demonstrated experience or a strong interest in the arts, cultural events and the film industry.
* Experience managing digital, print and ambient assets for media partnerships and festival branding.
* A creative flair and confidence contributing to social media content and campaigns in collaboration with our digital marketing team.
* Previous experience in an arts organisation.
Please note:
* Applicants must be Northern Rivers based, as this is an in-person position.
* The role will begin with a two day per week casual position for 3 months commencing in late May, early June 2025 with the opportunity to move into a permanent part-time position in September 2025 and additional hours on offer as we move closer to the festival dates.
* Full availability from 15th–26th January 2026 during the festival period is essential.
