About the Team
This position is in the Commercial – Economic Analysis team of the National Offshore Petroleum Titles Administrator (NOPTA) and the Offshore Infrastructure Registrar.
The team advises on the viability of offshore projects, evaluates commercial risk, and reviews internal and external business and regulatory reporting across petroleum, greenhouse gas and renewable energy projects.
What the Role Involves
Assist the Economic Analysis team manager to manage workflows and develop team members.
Undertake complex analysis and prepare briefings and advice on offshore petroleum, greenhouse gas storage or electricity infrastructure applications.
Coordinate projects and collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams to deliver outcomes within defined timeframes.
Represent the branch in collaboration with government agencies, regulators and the private sector on emerging offshore issues.
Monitor global events and identify potential economic disruptions affecting Australian offshore projects.
Collaborate with staff within the Regulatory Support Team and the Registrar to help implement legal advice.
Skills and Experience
Ability to identify and find practical solutions to complex legislative and regulatory issues.
Experience in risk-based analysis and expert advice on established legislative and policy frameworks.
Capacity to work under broad direction while resolving issues and delivering high-quality outcomes.
Proven record of building productive relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including clear and concise written communication for non-technical audiences.
History of leading projects and managing workflows.
Eligibility
Applicants must be Australian citizens and possess a baseline security clearance.
Successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
