Project officer - health education (melbourne)

Melbourne
The College Of Intensive Care Medicine
Posted: 6 October
Offer description

The College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICM) is responsible for intensive care medicine specialist training and education in Australia & New Zealand. With over 1600 members, and a similar number in training, we strive to support the capability of our membership to deliver critical care to their intensive care patients.

The core component of the College’s training program is the in-hospital training delivered by our Intensive Care professionals in College accredited Intensive Care units. This training delivers qualified and capable future intensivists. Recent national changes, driven by the National Health Practitioner Ombudsman and Australian Medical Council, to ensure a safe and effective environment for training an intensive care medical workforce, have led us to establish this fixed term Project Co-ordinator role.

Key deliverables for the project will be effective change management leading to engagement with and adoption of the new program and the establishment of over-arching systems and processes to effectively govern and administer the future program. The Project Co-ordinator will support the Hospital Accreditation Committee and Accreditation Manager to achieve these outcomes.

The role is for a fixed term of 18 months and can be considered as a 0.8 or 1FTE role.

- Contributing to the development and management of project plans and schedules.
- Project coordination activities, including monitoring and reviewing program and project activities to plan, monitoring milestones, identifying and managing project risks and issues.
- Providing advice, procedural guidance and expertise in specific areas of project work.
- Performing research and analysis to inform decision making and contributing to regular project reporting to stakeholders.
- Drafting a range of written material including plans, reports and documentation for review.
- Contribute to the design of a centralised accreditation IT system to enable effective site monitoring and data reporting aligned to the new standards.
- Co-ordinating stakeholder communication activities associated with the project, such as workshops, committee and project meetings, liaison with external bodies and consulting groups, drafting and co-ordinating newsletters and website communications.

Ideal Candidate

- Experience and understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience co-ordinating projects within professional environments, ideally in health compliance, with multiple complex stakeholder relationships.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills fostering collaborative stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, with high level attention to detail and ability to manage competing and/or critical deadlines whilst also keeping management abreast of developments and performance.
- Confidence with the MS Suite for project communication, documentation and administrative tasks.
- Exposure to committee support and administration.

What We Offer

We offer our team members an excellent working environment and culture, flexibility, with the ability to work on a hybrid basis and access to not-for-profit salary packaging.
