Coco's Annerley is one of Brisbane's busiest 24-hour fresh food markets, known for quality produce, strong community presence and competitive pricing.
We are seeking an experienced Fruit & Veg Manager to take full ownership of our produce department. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume retail environment.
This is not an entry-level position. Proven produce management experience is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
· Daily ordering and stock management
· Supplier coordination and relationship management
· Quality control and maintaining premium standards
· Managing gross profit, shrinkage and waste control
· Staff rostering and labour management
· Leading, training and motivating the produce team
· Stock rotation, merchandising and presentation
· Receiving deliveries and supervising unloads
· Maintaining food safety and cleanliness standards
· Executing promotional activity and in-store displays
· Problem solving in a 24-hour trading environment
You will be accountable for department performance, standards and results.
About You:
· Proven experience managing a Fruit & Veg or Produce department
· Strong understanding of seasonal produce and buying cycles
· Experience in high-volume retail
· Ability to manage GP, shrinkage and wage percentages
· Strong leadership and communication skills
· High standards and attention to detail
· Ability to work early mornings, weekends and flexible hours
· Supportive ownership and strong operational structure
Highly regarded:
· Forklift licence
· Experience in a 24-hour store environment
· Established supplier knowledge within Brisbane
