Overview
We're looking for an Associate Environmental Scientist to join our Contaminated Land Management (CLM) team, based in our Gold Coast office (Nerang). You will play a key role in delivering high‐quality environmental services and mentoring a growing team. This position offers the chance to work on a variety of projects across Queensland and nationally, giving you exposure to complex and rewarding challenges. You will collaborate with talented and like‐minded professionals working on iconic projects to drive sustainable site investigation solutions, environmental due diligence, portfolio assessment and remediation planning to help assess, rehabilitate or repurpose existing or derelict mining, petroleum contaminated sites, as well as government sector assets, including the application of innovative ideas for new uses.
Responsibilities
1. Conduct contaminated land investigations (soil, groundwater, vapour).
Prepare technical reports and documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
2. Assist in the design and implementation of remediation strategies.
3. Project management activities to ensure timely and successful delivery, including operational success of your projects and the development of repeat and new business for the team.
4. Engage with clients and stakeholders to provide clear, professional advice.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Earth Sciences, Environmental Engineering, or equivalent.
* At least 7 years' experience in assessing site contamination and overseeing remediation programs.
* Strong understanding of the Queensland Contaminated Land Framework (highly desirable).
* Motivated and confident individual who is keen to develop and grow a locally based team with the support of the QLD business.
* Proven ability to manage risk, budgets, and timelines on substantial projects.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to guide clients through regulatory processes.
* Experience in supervising teams and mentoring staff.
* Commitment to safety, quality, and technical excellence.
