An opportunity has arisen for a
Junior Accountant
to join a
growing funds management business
as it continues to build out its internal finance function.
This role offers
broad, hands-on exposure across both corporate accounting and fund accounting
, reporting directly to an experienced Director of Finance.
It's ideally suited to someone coming from a
Big 4 or mid-tier public practice background
who's looking to transition into industry while maintaining strong technical development and gaining commercial exposure.
You'll be involved across the end-to-end finance function, rather than operating in a narrow or siloed role. Responsibilities will include:
Corporate Accounting
* Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes
* Preparing journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations
* Supporting statutory reporting and audit processes
* Maintaining integrity of the general ledger and accounting records
Transactional Oversight
* Oversight and review of accounts payable and receivable
* Payroll support and coordination
* Ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
Fund Accounting Exposure
* Supporting oversight of fund accounting activities
* Assisting with NAV preparation, unit pricing, and investor reporting
* Liaising with external fund administrators
* Gaining exposure to fund structures, trust accounting, and investment reporting
Process & Systems
* Supporting continuous improvement of finance processes and controls
* Assisting with documentation of procedures and policies
* Working closely with senior finance leadership on ad hoc projects and analysis
About You
Essential
* 2+ years' experience in public practice (Big 4 or mid-tier preferred)
* Exposure to month-end processes, reconciliations, and financial accounting
* Currently studying CA or CPA (or intending to commence)
* Strong attention to detail and a solid technical foundation
* Professional communication skills and ability to work in a small, high-quality team
Desirable
* Exposure to funds management, financial services, or investment structures
* Experience supporting audits or working with complex entity structures
