CatholicCare Employee Benefits: - Not for Profit Salary Packaging - 4 Bonus Leave Days Per Year - Paid Parental Leave - Discounted Health Insurance About the Program: The Family Wellbeing Support Service (FWSS) provides early-intervention and practical support to families, children, and young people across Northern Tasmania. The program works to strengthen relationships, build parenting capacity, and create safe, stable home environments where families can thrive. Our team partners with families to address challenges before they escalate, supporting improved wellbeing, resilience, and community connection. About the Role: In this role you will work across schools, community settings, and families' homes to deliver evidence-informed, early-intervention support for children, young people, and their families. Our program draws on established models to support children to build emotional literacy, improve resilience, strengthen relationships, and engage more fully in school and community life. You will be joining a team that values creativity, engagement, and connection. We are looking for a practitioner who is outgoing, energetic, and enjoys designing and delivering engaging group and one-to-one sessions, running parenting workshops, and working alongside children in school settings. You will support families on their journey toward stronger wellbeing, helping them identify and build on strengths, and fostering safe, nurturing environments where children can thrive. As a Family Wellbeing Support Services Practitioner, you will: Work alongside families focused on safety, wellbeing, and family connectionProvide in-home and community-based support to strengthen parenting capacity and household stabilityCollaborate closely with schools, health, and community partners to achieve sustainable outcomes You'll be based in Launceston and provide outreach support across the Northern region. About You: You're a compassionate and practical professional who values family-centred, strengths-based practice. You will bring with you: A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Community Services, Psychology, or a related field or equivalent experience (e.g., Diploma plus three years relevant casework experience).Experience working with families facing complex challenges such as parenting stress, family violence, mental health, or housing instability.Strong communication and planning skills, with the ability to engage families respectfully and collaboratively.A current Driver's Licence, and ability to obtain a Working with Vulnerable People Registration and National Police Check. Selection Criteria Commitment to the vision, mission and values of CatholicCare Tasmania; and a broad understanding of the operation of the Catholic Church in Tasmania.Demonstrated experience in service coordination and the application of case management principles and practice, including experience and understanding of risk and needs assessment frameworks and applications and managing a case load.Proven ability to work directly with families, children and young people as well as facilitate groups and community forums.Demonstrated knowledge of issues that impact adults, families, children, and young people and the application or relevant theories, pyscho-educational interventions within a case management and family inclusive community-based approach.Demonstrated experience in the application of relevant theoretical approaches and appropriate service response to children, youth and families.Demonstrated ability and skills to facilitate Group Work in providing support, as well as educational information and "skills" training to children and their families.Ability to facilitate and co-facilitate groups of youth, within educational and community venues.Proven ability to work within a team environment and network effectively, including resourcefulness and organisational skills.
