You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. Key job responsibilities
* Be responsible for deploying network infrastructure across all of our network fabrics that supports the Amazon Retail Service and AWS services.
* Deploy, scale and automate our network across many global data centers. This includes existing footprints and new locations.
* Identify opportunities and develop tooling to increase scaling velocity and quality.
* Create simple, repeatable processes, and improve upon existing processes.
* Work closely with our internal customers on designs/solutions; bringing those designs/solutions from concept to production.
* Create and update our network standards and ensure that the network is deployed to these standards.
* Work closely with our teams in defining the platforms and frameworks that allow us to scale at unprecedented volume.
Basic Qualifications
* Experience in major internet routing protocols, specifically BGP and OSPF
* Knowledge of TCP/IP networks
* Experience in one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, Perl)
* Experience troubleshooting layer 2 and 3 network problems
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience coding and scripting in Python, Perl, BASH or equivalent
* Experience working with customers to diagnose a problem, and work towards resolution
* Basic understanding of the UNIX/LINUX operating environments with the ability to navigate, manipulate and understand the file structure.
* Demonstrated ability to collaborate efficiently with peers, stakeholders and customers on projects
