Senior Software Engineer Manager - Azure Core New Tech team
Join the Azure Core New Tech team at Microsoft as a Senior Software Engineer Manager. The Azure Core New Tech team is seeking lead engineers to help with the Current Technology onboarding process: automating how new hardware is verified, managed, and delivered to Microsoft datacenters for Azure, High-Performance Computing, Office, and Edge Computing products. The team works at the interface of software and hardware, creating technology to validate, onboard, and manage hardware throughout its lifespan. The team is focused on automating the management and tracking of the New Technology onboarding process to bring new and innovative technologies to market faster. In this role, you will build and lead the team in understanding requirements, creating designs, and implementing features needed to enable new technologies. This opportunity will let you grow your skills in software and hardware by collaborating with various Azure teams and learning about emerging technologies in the industry. Responsibilities: Coach the team’s partnership with stakeholders to clarify user requirements. Lead the team to identify dependencies and produce design documents. Set engineering standards and review work to optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse code. Own the team’s project and release plans, driving backlog health, delivery cadence, and quality. Act as (or assign) DRI for the team’s services/components and run an effective on-call. Ensure the team’s services meet defined scale and performance expectations. Qualifications: Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline AND 4+ years of technical engineering experience. 1+ year of comprehensive understanding of computer networking concepts. 1+ year of knowledge of datacenter infrastructure and server architecture. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years of technical engineering experience. 4+ years of experience working cross-team, collaborating with others, prioritizing tasks, and working independently. 4+ years of experience working with or developing software for distributed systems and scalable cloud environments. 4+ years of excellent hands-on design, coding, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
