The Department of Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine at the Royal Hobart Hospital is seeking suitable applicants for a unique opportunity to develop their skills in diving and hyperbaric medicine. This role offers a chance to work in a world-class facility, conducting over 2,000 treatments annually and managing cases of decompression illness and acute non-decompression emergencies. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to participate in international research projects and trials, as well as provide field visits to diving operations during employment. The position requires a General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia and current Working with Children Registration (if applicable). Pre-employment checks include conviction, identity, and disciplinary history checks. The working hours are 76 hours per fortnight plus 10 hours protected training time (pro-rata), from February 2026 to February 2027. Key Responsibilities: * Manage inpatient and outpatient diving and hyperbaric cases. * Provide after-hours emergency cover per the DDHM roster. * Undertake research related to the SPUMS DipDHM. * Complete training for the ANZCA Advanced Certificate (12-month appointments only).
