The Role
As an experienced Explosive Ordnance Engineer your responsibilities may include:
1. Supporting weapon acquisition and certification.
2. Leading and mentoring junior engineers
3. Holding and exercising engineering authority on behalf of the Commonwealth of Australia
4. Initial planning and establishment of new weapon acquisition projects, using knowledge of CASG Capability Life Cycle and CASG/EMB policies and procedures
5. Planning, coordinating and executeing explosive ordnance project engineering activities whilst liaising with internal and external stakeholders rele
6. Drafting and reviewing engineering technical certification documentation, including technical certification
7. Undertaking certification of current in-service explosive ordnance, using the engineering management system to ensure ongoing technical integrity
8. Undertake engineering change proposals
9. Planning, preparing and developing weapon integration activities, schedules and plans for platforms including technical risk, dependencies, schedule, cost and fundamental input to capability elements
10. Assisting with cost models, execution plans, schedules, risk reduction studies and stakeholder engagement for further development of capabilities
11. Supporting the development of future improvements, enhancements and capabilities to systems and processes
12. Preparation of technical aspects of tender and contract materials including schedule milestones.
13. Developing project execution strategies and weapon plans
To be successful in the role of experienced Explosive Ordnance Engineers you will require experience in or an awareness of:
14. CASG (or similar) engineering processes
15. Engineering management plans and documents
16. Capability life cycle and requirements
17. Explosive ordnance engineering management
18. Explosive ordnance operations / handling
19. Knowledge of the explosive munitions
20. Developing system engineering requirements for explosive ordnance
21. Test and evaluation of explosive ordnance products and certification of process and artefacts
22. Knowledge of COMSARM and ADF explosive ordnance inventory and of explosive ordnance capability development
23. Ability to provide engineering input into briefs and presentations
24. Identifying engineering risks
25. Stakeholder engagement and relationship management
