The Role
Under delegated authority from the Director General, Naval Construction Branch, the EL 1 Visits Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating visits of all kinds including working level visits/site tours and VIP/Ministerial Visits.
Some of the key duties of the role include:
* Oversight, manage, plan, coordinate, facilitate and execute visits of all levels.
* Develop, produce and review briefs and event plans.
* Manage an onsite team, and a remote team in either Osborne SA or Henderson WA.
* Manage onsite key events for shipbuilding formal and informal events.
* Act as primary branch engagement point with Ministerial, Navy and Industry CEOs offices for visits.
* Engage with onsite industry to organise access and appropriate security and escorts.
* Liaise with business units for varying levels of involvement in visits.
* Liaise with civilian agencies and organisations that may wish to conduct site visits.
* Conduct onsite visits where appropriate.
* Liaise with foreign military and agencies for visits from overseas VIPs and dignitaries.
* Prepare reports detailing upcoming events and visits.
* Prepare post activity reports.
* Manage internal communications and external and internal stakeholders.
About our Team
Naval Construction Branch (NCB) is accountable for the assurance of ship construction, set-to work and transit of vessels constructed at the Osborne Naval Shipyard and Henderson precinct. We have branches in Osborne SA and Henderson WA, as well as a smaller presence in Port Macquarie, NSW.
NCB is furthering continuous naval shipbuilding and growing sovereign capability by overseeing the construction to ensure quality and standards are met, storing lessons learnt and developing standard shipbuilding procedures for construction.
NCB will oversee the construction of many different Navy vessels including Offshore Patrol Vessels, Hunter Class Frigates, Young Endeavour, Evolved Cape Class and Pacific Patrol Boats. Working at NCB will enable you to be at the grassroots of continuous naval shipbuilding, where you are part of a working shipyard, being able to see and contribute to the vessels delivered and used in service by Navy.
NCB currently has highly skilled and diverse shipbuilding experience which will be shared to grow your hands-on construction knowledge. You will work alongside Navy personnel, internal project management officers and Prime contractors. The opportunity for technical staff to undertake industry placement is also available.
Our Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will:
* Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Work effectively in a team environment whilst displaying leadership and management qualities in managing personnel and discrete visits.
* Demonstrate initiative and ability to manage multiple stakeholders at varying levels of rank to facilitate site visits.
* Demonstrate excellent organisational and time management, as well as attention to detail in maintaining oversight and coordinating a high volume of simultaneous activities across several locations.
* Have media, events or visits experience.
