Ultralift Australia is seeking a skilled and motivated Mechatronic Engineer to join our product development team. This role is central to the design, development, testing, and ongoing improvement of our advanced lifting and material handling equipment, requiring the integrated application of mechanical, electrical, electronic, and control engineering principles.
Responsibilities
* Design and develop integrated mechatronic systems for lifting and handling equipment.
* Select and specify motors, actuators, sensors, drives, and control hardware as part of holistic electromechanical system designs.
* Develop and implement control systems using PLCs, embedded controllers, and HMI interfaces as core components of mechatronic solutions.
* Create detailed CAD models, electrical schematics, and engineering documentation to support multidisciplinary system integration.
* Build and test prototypes, conduct performance and reliability testing, and refine designs.
* Support manufacturing with technical input during assembly, calibration, and commissioning.
* Diagnose and resolve technical issues in both production and field environments involving interacting mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
* Ensure all designs comply with relevant safety, electrical, and machine standards.
* Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Assist with technical documentation, user manuals, and service guides.
Skills and Experience Required
* Bachelor's degree in Mechatronic Engineering or closely related discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Robotics).
* Strong understanding of electromechanical and mechatronic system integration.
* Experience with control systems, automation, and embedded software as part of integrated product development.
* Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) and electrical schematic tools.
* Programming experience with PLCs or embedded systems (e.g., C/C++, Python, Ladder Logic).
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
* Experience with lifting systems, material handling equipment, or heavy industrial products.
* Knowledge of machine safety and electrical standards (e.g., ISO 13849, IEC 60204).
* Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Modbus, Ethernet/IP).
Personal Attributes
