Vice President – Corporate Sales, Financial Markets
ING Australia's growing Wholesale Bank is looking to hire a Vice President – Corporate Sales for our Financial Markets team based in Sydney. We are seeking an experienced corporate salesperson to join our Sydney‐based dealing room, building and maintaining relationships with ING Wholesale Banking clients and marketing & originating business opportunities for the ING franchise.
Financial Markets Sales originates, structures and executes a wide range of risk management solutions for corporate and public sector clients across Australia and New Zealand. It delivers a broad range of products spanning interest rates, foreign exchange, equity derivatives, and commodities, and offers bespoke solutions such as deal‐contingent hedging, margin lending, hedge solutions, sustainable products and structured loans.
Reporting directly to the Head of Financial Markets Australia, this role will inherit an existing client set and work closely with the DCM, LCM and Coverage teams to grow the franchise among existing and target clients, and collaborate with trading, structuring and risk to develop compelling risk‐management solutions.
What you'll do
* Originate, structure, market and execute risk‐management solutions (with a focus on interest‐rate derivatives) for AU and NZ Corporate and Public Sector entities, in coordination with various structuring and trading desks at ING.
* Play an active role in strategic development of a sustainable FM client business in Australia and New Zealand.
* Develop strong relationships with clients; work with and build on an existing client portfolio in Australia and New Zealand across infrastructure, real estate, energy, technology and other diversified corporate clients.
* Drive and grow the ING wallet across existing products by leveraging ING resources globally.
* Comply with internal policies to maintain a high level of work ethic and professionalism.
* Work independently and with the team, and with other offshore Sales teams (Execution, FX/Rates Origination, Credit Origination, Financing, Client Solutions, Distribution/Loan Sales etc.) to achieve targets, with close alignment with Sydney‐based Sector Coverage teams.
* Have a strong grasp of derivative credit exposure concepts; calculate XVA & funding impact of derivative products, interpret pre‐settlement exposures and engage with Credit Risk for pre‐trade credit approvals.
What we're looking for
* 5 + years' experience initiating and building long‐term sustainable client and stakeholder relationships.
* Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field.
* Strong sales skills with the ability to engage in frequent conversations to understand client needs and deliver appropriate products and solutions.
* Strong understanding of global markets and derivatives across asset classes including IRS, XCCY swaps, options, and the ability to price all components of derivative transactions and analyse associated risks.
* Ability to liaise with various internal trading and structuring teams to build bespoke solutions addressing hedging, financing, accounting, tax and other client needs.
* Responsibility for identifying client needs around risk management, structured financing, asset‐liability mismatches, yield enhancement, subsidiary financing, and cross‐border solutions, with an acumen for analysing clients' businesses and exposures.
* Entrepreneurial self‐starter with commercial drive, results focus, a positive attitude, and a "can‐do" mindset; open to learning and development.
* Multi‐asset product background ranging from flow to non‐flow to high‐value transactions.
* Genuine team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
