**Disability Support Workers - Byron Bay Region**
Due to unprecedented growth, we have multiple openings for Disability Support workers to work within our new team located in Byron Bay and surrounds. We are seeking individuals who are passionate about helping our participants to reach their full potential by assisting them with their daily care needs, social outings and appointments, as well as helping them learn practical life skills to assist them in living independently.

**The Position**:
Reporting to the Supports Manager, your role will see you working a range of different shifts with multiple participants and ensuring our participants are receiving person centred-care, as well as ensuring compliance with NDIS Practice Standards. You will be at the forefront of delivering services that meet the individual needs and goals of the participant, enabling independence and choice and control over everything they do, and also ensuring that they are part of their local community.
**Responsibilities**:
- Assisting clients with recreational or social activities and outings
- Personal care assistance including showering, toileting, and personal hygiene
- Domestic duties including meal preparation and cleaning
- Group or centre based activities such as art therapy classes, equine therapy and much more
- Transportation to appointments or social engagements
- Working in a Supported Independent Living accommodation facility where you are able to assist with the life skills needed to live independently.
**Key Skills and Attributes**:
- Empathy, and a caring and compassionate approach to clients
- A genuine interest in supporting people with disabilities and their inclusion within the community
- Work or life experience in supporting someone with a disability
- Flexible approach to working hours
- An understanding of complex needs, mental health conditions, and alcohol and drug abuse, is highly desirable
- A valid NDIS Worker Screening Check, or Working With Children's Check and Police Check, or willing to obtain
- Current driver's licence and own reliable transport
- Comfortable assisting clients of all ages
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Relevant qualifications such as Cert III or Cert IIII in Disability
**Job Type**: Casual
Pay: $34.00 - $80.00 per hour
