About the InterContinental Hayman Great Barrier Reef

About The Role
As the Director of Operations based on Hayman Island and reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be second in charge to the General Manager and a key member of the Executive team who will play a pivotal part in the Hotel's overall success. You will be responsible for driving daily operations and profitability through strong, hands‐on leadership across key departments.
Drawing on your operational expertise, you will use innovative and commercial thinking to implement initiatives that enhance both guest satisfaction and financial performance. A key focus of the role is taking ownership of operational key performance indicators and fostering a high‐performance culture throughout the Hotel. You will lead and develop your direct reports within the management team, ensuring goals and targets are not only met but exceeded.
You will also play an instrumental role in building a culture of engagement, growth, and continuous development across all levels. Partnering closely with the Executive team, you will help maintain exceptional standards across operational and functional areas while championing the IHG ways of working. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact and influence the overall direction and performance of the Hotel.
Salary
$150,000.00
What We Need From You
* Relevant tertiary qualifications welcomed, plus significant relevant Hotel and Resort management experience at senior level, with a proven track record of delivering operational effectiveness.
* Strategic thinking, the ability to explore new ways of working and an open mind around how we can drive the Resort forward with regards to efficiencies will be paramount.
* You will be a change agent with the ability to work alongside a team and collaborate with varied stakeholders which is underpinned by exceptional leadership expertise and ability to create and grow high performing teams.
* You must also meet the legal requirements to work in Australia without restrictions.
