Lead Cyber Security Analyst – Risk, Certification & Compliance
Step into a lead cyber role with a major federal agency supporting Australia’s veterans, where you’ll drive certification, risk, compliance and reporting across complex ICT environments. You will provide strategic cyber advice, shape security documentation and artefacts, and guide stakeholders on secure system design in a hybrid, multi-vendor landscape. Multiple roles available.
Location: ACT or VIC (Hybrid working arrangements)
Contract Details:
- Contract Duration: Estimated start 1 January 2026 until 30 June 2026, with potential extensions
- Security Clearance Requirement: NV1 highly preferred
Essential Tasks
- Provide expert cyber security advice focused on certification, risk, compliance and reporting for critical business systems.
- Lead the development of high-quality security artefacts, including Risk Assessments, System Security Plans and related documentation.
- Offer technical leadership on security controls for systems, ensuring alignment with government security standards and policy.
- Liaise and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including other agencies, service providers and contracted entities, to support system authorisation activities.
Key Criteria
- Proven knowledge of key security standards such as PSPM, ISM and the Essential Eight (mandatory).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in complex ICT environments with multiple service providers, plus skilled experience in information security and/or risk assessments.
- Demonstrated cloud security experience and ability to assess and manage risk in cloud and hybrid environments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to lead a section, provide expert advice, and produce clear, high-quality security documentation.
