A vacancy exists for a Chef to join us at Nundah Private Hospital; a newly built mental health facility which opened earlier this year. Enjoy working in a new, spacious, well-equipped kitchen, and become a part of our successful and growing organisation.
Duties for the role include:
* Prepare and present quality meals in accordance with standard recipes and workflows
* Provide, under the instruction of the Head Chef/Dietician, any therapeutic diets and supplements as required
* Maintain a high degree of hygiene and cleanliness in all aspects of food distribution in accordance with the hospitals Infection Control Policies and Procedures
* Maintain and document food safety plans
* Direct and supervise the planning, preparation and serving of food to patients, staff members and visitors
* Ability to lead a team in the absence of the Head Chef
* Supervision of stock rotation and cleaning of kitchen areas
* Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality
* Adhere to Work Health and Safety principles
Qualifications & experience:
* Certificate 3 in commercial cookery or equivalent
* Food Safety Certificate/Supervisor
* An understanding of HACCP principals
* Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role
* Excellent knowledge surrounding food allergens and special dietary requirements
* Demonstrated commitment to customer service and quality improvement
* Effective communication skills and proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently when required
* Proven experience in creating seasonal menus
* Experience working in hospitals or aged care is preferred
