Project Manager Construction, Data Center Capacity Delivery

Amazon Construction Project Managers (CPMs) are at the forefront of innovation in construction. As a Data Center CPM, you are responsible for day‐to‐day construction oversight and management of contractors, and for leading specific disciplines such as construction management, building services, architectural, electrical or mechanical engineering.
Key Responsibilities
* Project management and oversight of construction activities for new builds or capital projects, owning project scope, timeline, and budgets.
* Drive costs down and schedules shorter while maintaining quality.
* Provide Construction Management for initiatives aimed at increasing the resiliency of our data centers.
* Review constructability of electrical and mechanical systems and building designs for new or existing data centers.
* Create project scope and equipment requirements, assist with RFPs and capital requests.
* Manage commissioning, integrated system testing and oversee project execution.
* Issue/manage the Request for Information process and coordinate construction administration with engineers.
* Record and report key metrics to team members and management.
* Manage multiple projects, including new data center buildings and capital improvement projects.
* Operate installed facilities, reviewing procedures, best practices, and maintenance initiatives.
* Act as a leader within the group and within internal and external teams that support the data center.
* Travel to datacenter sites for audits, reviews, constructability reviews, startup testing, and full commissioning as required.
Logistics
Hold or be able to attain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance.
Basic Qualifications
* 5+ years of design and construction management experience.
* Experience in program management in mission‐critical facilities.
* Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings for all disciplines.
* Experience carrying new design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment/mass production.
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience in Construction Management, Architecture, Structural, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
* Experience in mission‐critical projects such as data centres, semiconductor, hospitals, oil and gas.
* Knowledge of Australian building codes and regulations including fire, building, energy efficiency, sanitary, and safety codes.
* Previous vendor and contractor or subcontractor negotiation and management skills.
* Experience in mechanical and electrical systems.
