Timberlink Australia I New Zealand is a leading timber products manufacturing and distribution business. Our two manufacturing sites are located close to some of the best plantation pine resources in the world - Bell Bay in Tasmania & Tarpeena in South Australia. Our fit-for-purpose indoor and outdoor plantation pine products are suitable for building new homes, renovation projects and other industrial manufacturing applications including packaging, pallets, and furniture components.
About the role:
We are now commencing recruitment for a Site Manager for the Bell Bay site, responsible for the development of annual business plans that meets the requirements of the Timberlink Board of Directors Strategic objectives and the operational KPI's as developed by the business in line with the guiding safety principles and the company's return on funds employed requirements.
The successful candidate must drive rigorous operational performance and improvement for the site, ensuring alignment throughout the business in areas of Safety, Manufacturing, Environment, Financial, Supply Chain and play a key role in establishing strategy.
Reporting to the Executive General Manager - Manufacturing, this role is crucial to the ongoing success of the Bell Bay site, as well as the broader business. With over 190 people on site, this dual manufacturing plant operation is fast becoming one of the premiere sites not just in the Bell Bay precinct but in the Tamar Valley.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
· Ensure Safety systems and process in place driving robust use and outcomes. Improvement plan drives results linked to positive workplace and individual behaviours.
· Engagement in the execution of the business sales and operations planning process. Ensuring compliance to plan measured and variances explained.
· Ensure overall operations profit result maximised, protecting the value of site assets.
· Site infrastructure maintained adequate to perform site tasks safely. Capital/Improvement/safety capital and expenditure plans submitted based on payback and business need/priority.
· Manage FTE'S at budget or agreed levels to perform to company requirements under the S &OP process.
· Site profit improvements plans in place and reviewed at least monthly.
· Product made to quality and compliance standards, with robust systems and measurement in place. Customer/market acceptance of quality understood and worked through to ensure best business outcomes.
· Succession plans created and development plans in place to assist future leaders to be ready for advancement and current leaders to maximise performance and contribution.
To be considered for this role, you will have:
· Years' experience in an site management/general manager role within manufacturing or similar environments
· Demonstrated experience developing and implementing an organisational strategy
· Background in developing and implementing capability frameworks
· Project management skills with the ability to plan, implement, monitor, communicate, review and update stakeholders
