Your new company
Our client is a key driver of Australia's renewable energy transformation, offering integrated advisory and delivery solutions that set the standard across the sector. Their expertise spans the full spectrum of clean energy infrastructure - from utility-scale solar and wind, to battery storage, data centres, and grid-related assets. With both strategy and execution teams operating, they deliver projects end-to-end across the entire asset lifecycle. Their trusted partnerships with top-tier developers, construction leaders, and major utilities speak to their impact and credibility in the market.
Your new role
Reporting to the Manager of Project Development & Engineering, you will step into a pivotal role leading the delivery of detailed electrical designs, calculations, technical analysis, and project documentation for some of Australia's most important infrastructure assets. You'll work across the entire lifecycle - from early concepts through to delivery - contributing to renewable energy and grid-scale projects that are building a more sustainable future. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, thrives in a fast-moving environment, and takes pride in delivering quality work that makes a real difference.
Responsibilities:
* Carry out advanced electrical system studies such as load flow, fault studies, voltage drop assessments, and equipment sizing for conductors and switchgear.
* Deliver high-quality electrical design packages, including detailed drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical reports that meet all client expectations, safety guidelines, and compliance requirements.
* Conduct early-stage protection assessments to support grid modelling and inform subsequent detailed design.
* Review project briefs and client inputs to ensure all low-voltage (LV) and high-voltage (HV) system designs align with relevant standards and meet performance targets.
* Design and document a broad range of electrical systems and components, including HV protection, Solar/BESS systems, Earthing systems, installation/commissioning, Cable containment and routing infrastructure, and LV/HV distribution networks.
* Work closely with engineers, project stakeholders, equipment suppliers, and clients across all stages of the design lifecycle-from concept development through to onsite implementation.
* Serve as the go-to electrical design expert within cross-functional teams, providing technical leadership and ensuring all design work meets quality standards, complies with regulations, and integrates smoothly with broader project systems.
What you'll need to succeed
* Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, with current or in-progress Chartered status (CPEng) through Engineers Australia.
* 5+ years of industry experience, ideally focused on utility-scale renewable energy or major infrastructure projects.
* In-depth knowledge of Australian electrical standards and regulations, including AS 3000 and AS 2067.
* Skilled user of AutoCAD, ETAP, and other key industry tools for design and analysis.
* Strong foundation in the design, implementation, and optimisation of complex electrical systems.
* Proven ability to develop clear, accurate technical reports, specifications, and design documentation.
* Clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, consultants, and project teams.
What you'll get in return
* Competitive salary + other incentives
* Opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in renewable energy.
* Supportive environment for professional growth and development.
* Chance to be part of a dynamic and forward-thinking team.
