Suburban Connect is a consortium of global leaders in tunnelling including CPB Contractors, Ghella and Acciona Construction delivering the Tunnels South package on Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East, on behalf of Suburban Rail Loop Authority (SRLA).
We have a broad range of roles available to build our diverse and inclusive workforce, including construction and engineering, planning and environmental management, corporate support, administration, communications and many others.
SRL East from Cheltenham to Box Hill is now under construction, with tunnelling to start in 2026 and trains to be running by 2035.
Suburban Connect is constructing the 16kms of tunnels between Cheltenham and Glen Waverley using 4 tunnel boring machines and a range of excavation methods. The works also include 55 cross passages, 2 tunnel portal structures, 2 station box excavations and associated supports.
Primary purpose of the position:
This role is pivotal in ensuring our organizational resilience and safeguarding our growth.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
* Develop, implement, and manage risk assessment models and protocols.
* Collaborate with departments to identify and address potential risks.
* Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk management processes.
* Prepare detailed reports and recommendations for senior management.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and internal policies.
* Lead risk management training initiatives across the organization.
The ideal candidate will possess:
* achelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
* Proven experience as a Risk Manager with a focus on health and safety.
* In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and industry best practices.
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in assessing workplace safety risks.
* Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with experience in delivering safety training.
* Certification in health and safety, such as NEBOSH or OSHA, is highly desirable.
