Position Details
Permanent part‑time (0.6 FTE), commencing Term 1, 2026.
The Role
The role is that of an enthusiastic and hardworking Gardener – Handyperson, responsible for maintaining the school's grounds in a clean, attractive, and safe condition. Duties include minor repairs, maintenance, turf management, and providing advice and support to the Manager Corporate Services on grounds maintenance.
Responsibilities
* Present the school grounds in a clean, attractive, and tidy condition, making improvements to ensure safety.
* Complete minor repairs and maintenance jobs in accordance with Department policies and guidelines.
* Provide a suitable growing environment for soft and hard landscaping, including turf management.
* Maintain tools and horticultural equipment in a serviceable condition.
* Advise and support the Manager Corporate Services on school grounds maintenance.
Qualifications & Skills
* Knowledge of gardening methods and procedures, including the safe use and storage of gardening equipment, materials, and chemicals.
* Hard‑working, proactive approach with a strong work ethic.
* Willingness to undertake professional learning and share skills.
* Reliability and capacity to work independently and as part of a facilities team.

* Obtain a valid Working With Children Check.
* Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a Screening Clearance Number before the start date.
* Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or hold a visa with relevant work rights for the term of appointment.
