About the Role

We are seeking a Support Worker to join the team at the residential facility. The Support Worker is at the forefront of the organisation in providing client facing recovery support interventions. You will have the ability to work with a range of clients and build and maintain professional relationships.

The Support Worker role works closely with Support Coordinators and reports directly to the Service Lead. The successful candidate will play an important role in improving the health and social wellbeing, quality of life of clients, maximising self-management, independence, participation in the community and housing.

This position involves delivering a range of support interventions within a developmental framework that enables clients to address their needs. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Support Coordinator by assisting with delivering activity based work and daily living supports such as taking clients to appointments.

This is a full-time permanent position working 8:30am - 4:30pm between Monday to Friday.

What we’re looking for

The successful applicant will be required to meet the following criteria:

- Previous experience in a role focused on supporting clients mental health.
- Ability to engage with individuals within different levels of needs and build and maintain a professional relationship.
- Ability to work independently and contribute to the functioning of the team.
- Ability to model positive behaviours, emotional maturity, coping skills and resilience.
- Valuable interpersonal and effective communication skills.
- Strong administration skills and computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and client reporting system.
- Willingness and ability to work within and contribute to the vision, mission, core values and the guiding principles of the organisation.
- Knowledge and understanding of diversity, gender and social inclusion, particularly Aboriginal culture.
