About Us
Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is an exceptional environment to advance your career while enhancing your skills and expertise. As a recognised leader in the healthcare industry, we deliver a comprehensive range of public health services across the Nepean, Blue Mountains, and Lithgow Regions.

Blue Mountains District ANZAC Memorial Hospital is an acute hospital that supports a population of approximately 80,000 and is the only ANZAC Memorial hospital remaining in NSW. Easily accessible to Sydney residents, our team of clinicians, allied health, and support staff works with the community on a shared goal to maintain the delivery of high-quality healthcare in the Blue Mountains region.

We are seeking an Emergency Department/Switchboard Administration Officer to join the frontline administrative team supporting Blue Mountains Hospital in Katoomba and Springwood Hospital. This role is the first point of contact for patients, visitors and staff and operates as part of a 24/7 rotating roster across both sites.

The position provides efficient administrative support to the Emergency Department, including accurate patient registration, maintenance of health care records, support with admissions, transfers and discharges, and delivery of high‑quality customer service to patients and families. The role also involves identifying and recording patient funding details, providing information regarding private health insurance, supporting clinical staff with timely communication, and receipting payments where required, all while working within mandatory policies and privacy requirements.

As part of the switchboard function, the role is responsible for answering and directing incoming calls, managing patient enquiries confidentially, and responding promptly to REACH and 2222 emergency calls in line with hospital procedures.

This is an excellent opportunity for a calm, organised and customer focused administrator who thrives in a fast paced healthcare environment and is committed to supporting high quality patient care. Join our team and play a vital role in the delivery of emergency and hospital services to the Blue Mountains community.
