We deliver culturally appropriate, family-centered primary health care services to the communities and people of Cape York.
About the Role As a Practice Nurse, you will deliver comprehensive nursing services to the people of Cape York as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Your role will focus on providing Primary Health Care, health education, early disease detection, effective disease management, and clinical support and mentorship.

What We Offer: Competitive salary range of $107,524 - $117,863 + 11.5% superannuation Modern facilities and resources 5 weeks annual leave + 17.5% leave loading Generous salary packaging up to $15,900 per year Induction, professional development, and learning opportunities EAP program for personal and professional support About You To succeed in this role, you will have: Proven experience as a Practice Nurse or Registered Nurse in a Primary Health Care setting Strong clinical problem-solving skills at an advanced level Ability to plan, coordinate, and evaluate complex client care across the Primary Health Care continuum High-level nursing knowledge and skills to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care Competence in compliance with clinical environment requirements, particularly in infection control and cold chain management Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, policies, and procedures in Primary Health Care nursing Advanced interpersonal and communication skills to support holistic Primary Health Care, including consultation, negotiation, and conflict resolution Proven ability to work effectively in a team, with the adaptability to promote and facilitate change Understanding of the historical and contemporary issues affecting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, especially in Cape York Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, respecting community protocols and customs Demonstrated understanding of the principles of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community control Willingness to travel across Cape York, either by light aircraft or 4 WD, as needed Mandatory Requirements: Degree qualification in Nursing Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) Queensland Immunisation Endorsement, or the willingness to obtain it within a specified timeframe Current Queensland Driver's Licence Australian Federal Police National Police Check Desired Qualifications: Post-graduate qualifications Experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities, preferably in Cape York Experience within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHO) To express your interest in this position, please submit your resume highlighting your relevant experience to Mia Cross - Mia@hendersonhealthcare.com.au.
