Seeking a highly skilled Actuary to join our team in Sydney, Australia.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Actuary to conduct quarterly valuations, perform actuarial analyses and reporting. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting and analysing data, calculating actuarial reserves and reporting on the results.
The ideal candidate will have nearly or newly qualified actuary (FIAA or equivalent), with at least 5 years' experience in the Australian Life insurance industry, or equivalent. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct quarterly valuation: collection and analysis of data; calculation of actuarial reserves and report on the results.
* Monitor and report business insight on product experience and identify potential trends and issues.
* Assist other teams in reviewing and improving data integrity.
* Actively contribute to implementation of changes in financial reporting and other actuarial developments within the company.
* Participate/contribute to both actuarial and Company-wide projects.
Requirements:
* Nearly or newly qualified actuary (FIAA or equivalent)
* At least 5 years' experience in the Australian Life insurance industry, or equivalent
* Advanced level excel skills
* Relationship management skills
* Self-motivated with a desire to achieve continuous improvement in processes and analysis
* Excellent organisation, attention to detail and ability to prioritise effectively
* Clear and effective communication both written and verbal
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills
* Strategic thinking capabilities
* Ability to liaise at Board and senior level
