Cardiology Research Fellow Job Opportunity
This is a part-time research position at Flinders Medical Centre, offering a unique chance to advance cardiovascular research while developing clinical expertise in South Australia's leading healthcare network.
You will collaborate with renowned cardiologists on innovative research projects and clinical trials that directly impact patient outcomes across the region. The goal of this position is to provide training and experience in management and participation in Clinical Trials across the spectrum of Cardiology.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure Clinical trials are encouraged within the Cardiology Department.
* Recruit patients into a broad spectrum of Cardiology Clinical Trials.
* Ensure the ethical involvement of patients in clinical trials.
* Provide high-quality professional medical care to patients in Clinical trials.
* Conduct Cardiology outpatients, particularly for trial patients, and provide timely communication to General Practitioners and other referring physicians.
* Assist in the organization and efficient management of cardiovascular diseases.
* Fulfill the Hospital's vision, mission objectives, by-laws, and policies, as well as assist with the implementation of the Hospital's Business Plan as requested.
Requirements:
* Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent qualification.
* Registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration.
* Demonstrated ability and interest in clinical research.
* Commitment to the principles and practices of Equal Employment Opportunity and Ethical Conduct.
* Understanding of, experience in, and ability to manage to the spirit and principles of the Premier's Safety Commitment and the legislative requirements of the Occupational Health Safety and Welfare Act, utilizing AS/NZS 4360 Risk Management, or an equivalent set of standards.
* Proven clinical skills to enable work in general Cardiology and coronary care.
* Comprehensive understanding of the role of a Cardiology Physician in a teaching Hospital environment.
* Experience in cardiac investigations, including ECG reporting, Holter monitor reporting.
* Documented experience in providing echocardiographic services, including Transthoracic echo consistent with CSANZ criteria for Advanced Trainees.
* Experience in Cardiovascular Medicine and teaching in Public Hospitals.
* Clinical and basic research experience.
