Job Description
Oaks Darwin Elan Hotel is seeking a Junior Sous Chef to join their busy team on a full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Prepare and present quality, timely meals.
* Work alongside and supervise kitchen team members.
* Perform and delegate duties within the kitchen brigade.
* Ensure all food served is of high quality and portion sizes as per standard recipes.
* Maintain menu item availability throughout the trading day.
* Control stock through recording, monitoring wastage, stocktakes, and effective ordering in accordance with Food Safety standards.
* Investigate and report financial or stock discrepancies.
* Receive goods adhering to food safety standards.
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of back-of-house areas and equipment.
* Perform additional duties as requested by the Executive Chef or Chef in Charge.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should have:
* Relevant Certificate III in Cookery.
* Adherence to Food Quality & Safety standards.
* Strong leadership skills with experience in motivating a diverse team.
* Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Availability to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
