The opportunity
EY is a leading provider of Tax services, recognised as the firm of choice for Tax and the #1 deal advisor in Asia‐Pacific. The role is part of the dedicated Financial Services Office (FSO) and offers the autonomy and benefits of an in‐house position within this space.
Your key responsibilities
* 100% dedicated to servicing a large property REIT. This hybrid role combines private and in‐house skills.
* Building impactful relationships within the client's business (e.g. finance, legal, transaction teams).
* Act as the key "anchor" of EY's delivery of services to the client.
* Project‐manage income tax compliance and overall tax transaction timelines and deliverables.
* Responsible for corporate tax provision and tax returns (with delivery supported by a broader team).
* Provide assistance in driving process changes in service deliverables by utilising latest technology solutions.
* Provide assistance in post‐transaction implementation and beyond.
* Provide day‐to‐day advisory support for the client.
* If desired, provide transaction support (e.g. buy‐side / sell‐side assistance).
Skills and attributes for success
* Australian tax experience ideally gained in a top‐tier accounting firm, corporate, business consulting or legal environment.
* Ability to develop strong and broad relationships with clients and provide a high level of client service.
* Ability to manage a team and delegate work to junior team members.
* Strong project management skills.
* Ability to drive process changes and excitement about technology opportunities.
* Corporate tax compliance experience.
* Ability to communicate with various business teams to find relevant facts/answers to manage tax risk and opportunities.
Ideally, you'll have the following skills and attributes
* Experience in or an interest in dealing with real‐estate tax matters.
* In‐house experience and working with a multitude of teams.
* Tax effect accounting experience.
