An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Nurse Specialist at one of the newest sites of the WA Country Health Service in picturesque Eucla! The successful candidate will travel across the Goldfields region, including Kalgoorlie, Esperance, Norseman, Laverton, and Leonora, ensuring that vital health services reach communities in need.

Eucla is the easternmost locality in Western Australia, located in the Goldfields-Esperance region along the Eyre Highway, approximately 11 kilometres west of the South Australian border that sees more than 120,000 vehicles enter through the road checkpoints each year.
It is the only Western Australian location on the Eyre Highway that has a direct view of the Great Australian Bight due to its elevated position immediately next to the Eucla Pass – where the highway moves out and above the basin known as Roe Plains that occur between the Madura and Eucla passes.
Eucla has a hotel and restaurant, a police station, a golf club, a museum dedicated to the Old Telegraph Station, and a meteorological station. These, together with fishing, are the major activities in Eucla.
Overview Of The Role
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist - Remote Area, you will play a crucial role in providing and coordinating primary health care services to communities, including those in remote locations. Your responsibilities will encompass emergency care, chronic disease management, child health, immunisation, health promotion, and education, ensuring that our communities receive the highest standard of care.
Ideal Candidate
* Extensive clinical experience with strong assessment, triage, and emergency management skills
* Excellent leadership, organisational, and supervisory skills
* In-depth understanding of chronic disease management and primary health care principles
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, particularly in a cross-cultural setting
* Commitment to cultural safety and Aboriginal health issues
* Experience in remote area nursing is desirable
* Possession of a current Western Australian Immunisation Provider endorsement is a plus
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster relationships with community stakeholders
* Proven capability in coordinating medical evacuations and responding to emergency situations
* On‐call availability to cover a 24/7 service
* Ability to travel between sites when required

* RAN allowance of 25% of base salary paid fortnightly in lieu of overtime or recall.

* Receive an extra 2 weeks of WACHS-funded in‐service training with at least one week at a major centre with access to Staff Development Nurses. Includes travel and accommodation.
* Paid Study Leave negotiated for relevant post graduate qualification.
