The Patricia Giles Centre for Non-Violence (PGCNV) is one of the leading providers of family and domestic violence services in the Perth metropolitan area. Supporting more than 5,000 Western Australian women and children last year, we provide crisis accommodation facilities and support, women’s and children’s counselling services and outreach programs.
Our reputation is driven by our commitment to providing a high-quality, client-focused and sustainable service to clients accessing our programs and services.
In addition to the provision of direct response and recovery services, we also provide advocacy, referral information and support to women and their children seeking relief from the impact of domestic violence.
About the role
We are seeking individuals who are extremely passionate about helping FDV clients to rebuild their lives. The successful candidates will be committed to providing evidence-based practice and are passionate about being part of a values-driven team.
You will work as part of a true interdisciplinary team and be responsible for delivering evidence-based services to help our clients achieve their goals and get back to doing things that matter to them.
You will have access to resources to help your clients achieve the best possible rehabilitation outcomes, and most importantly, your work will matter and be recognised.
This is a full-time permanent position based in our Merriwa office, reporting to the Service Lead, Counselling.
Responsibilities:
* You will be responsible for delivering clinical services to FDV clients that reflect evidence-based practice and support positive client outcomes.
* Actively contribute as a team member, providing evidence-based clinical interventions.
* Demonstrate effective teamwork, professionalism, and exceptional communication skills to support the best outcomes for clients.
* Ensure systems are in place to clearly communicate role expectations, responsibilities, standards, and accountability to all staff.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date client and program records, ensuring compliance with confidentiality and privacy requirements.
About you
* Degree in Psychology, Counselling, or equivalent
* Registration with AHPRA, ACA, or PACFA, or eligible for registration
* You have a friendly, results focused disposition and are able to work collaboratively as part of a interdisciplinary team
* You display genuine empathy, compassion, patience and an interest in your clients’ needs
* You have excellent communication skills both written and verbal. This is extremely important to us
* You have integrity; you are trustworthy and honest
* You are love working in a fast-paced environment. We are a busy organisation and the role will require you to be comfortable with multi-tasking
* You are comfortable working both independently and also collaboratively across all the services/programs at PGCNV
* You are resourceful – if you don’t have the answer, you go out and find it
* You have a positive, can-do attitude and a great sense of humour. You bring energy to the room and love to have fun at work
* Resourceful and proactive in finding solutions
* Current National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check
* First Aid and CPR certificate
* Current driver's license
