Data Center Area Manager
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure.
In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of the data center's critical physical infrastructure.
Manage teams of 24x7 engineering technicians.
Engage in improvement projects from conception to completion.
Coordinate daily with third-party vendors and adhere to contracted SLAs.
Effectively manage the operations budget and expenditures.
Operate as the after-hours on-call Data Center Facility Manager.
Respond to any issues within the data centers and manage the investigation, mitigation, and recovery.
Basic Qualifications
2+ years of people management and team development experience.
5+ years of engineering work managing large-scale services experience.
Experience maintaining SLAs through proactive issue detection and reporting.
Experience operating a mission-critical team or product.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years in a management position with 5+ direct reports.
5+ years working in data centers with emphasis on building and equipment operation.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems in critical data center operations.
Experience in a management position with 5+ direct reports.
