Role Overview
The Prince of Wales Hospital (POWH) is offering a Nurse Manager (Grade 3) role within the Executive Unit.
Working closely with the nursing executive team, you will support daily operations, lead key projects, and drive initiatives from the POWH Nursing Business Plan.
This role offers exposure to hospital-wide governance, patient flow management, workforce development, and clinical improvements.

Where You'll Be Working
Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Service is a Level 6 tertiary referral hospital with a 370-bed inpatient base.
The facility cares for more than 70,000 patients in the Emergency Department each year and handles around 50,000 inpatient admissions.
POWH also offers outpatient services, rural outreach and over 900,000 occasions of non-admitted patient care annually, including innovative virtual care models.
Randwick Local Council, where the hospital is located, provides a vibrant community with historic beaches, boutique restaurants, transport links and nightlife.
What You'll Be Doing
Assist with daily administration and operations of the nursing service
Provide clinical leadership and support organisation-wide key nursing initiatives of the POWH Nursing Business Plan
Manage key project work and participate in executive governance processes, whole-hospital operations including unplanned and planned patient flow, workforce development and clinical practice improvements
Analyse nursing and hospital business information and manage nursing executive correspondence
Oversee key patient-care equipment across POWH and maintain daily operational responsibility for the POWH Mortuary
Act as a professional and operational reporting partner to the Director of Nursing and participate actively in the Nursing Shared Governance structure, including Nursing Councils and executive committees
Provide oversight of the POWH Nursing clinical business rules, including governance of the revision process, implementation and evaluation
Selection Criteria
Registered Nurse with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA)
Relevant management tertiary qualification or working towards one, or a combination of study and work experience with a demonstrated commitment to professional development
Demonstrated experience and competencies in organisational change management and the achievement of measurable outcomes
Proven ability in innovative clinical service delivery, harm minimisation and project management
Sound verbal, written and negotiation skills with an aptitude to utilise relevant information technology platforms
Recent broad clinical and operational experience within a complex health-care environment
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in human and financial resource management and delivery of health-care services
Demonstrated sound knowledge of current clinical practice, its delivery and models of care
