We are seeking a dynamic Payroll Team Leader to join the team at Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Ltd.
YOUR ROLE
The Payroll Team Leader is a brand-new position to lead and develop the team delivering our payroll function to schools in the North and West region. This role is designed to support our Shared Services teams, delivering excellent customer service, meeting agreed service level agreements and ensuring accurate processing and administration of all payrolls related payments by a team of ten.
This role would suit an experienced payroll professional that has led and developed a team with an eye for process improvement and development. This will be a busy and varied role where no two days will be the same so the ability to cope with change and problem solve is essential.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
* Lead a payroll team of 10 ensuring accurate and compliant fortnightly payroll for client schools
* Maintain compliance with payroll policies, statutory requirements, and legislative obligations (PAYG, Superannuation, Workcover, Salary Packaging, STP).
* Drive continuous improvement in payroll processes, internal controls, and data management
* Interpret complex legislation and payroll agreements to ensure accuracy in payroll operations.
* Develop and support a high-performance team through coaching, motivation, and knowledge-sharing.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance payroll systems and workflows and resolve any escalated payroll issues.
ABOUT YOU
* Demonstrated leadership experience in a busy large payroll office and an understanding of the demands to support and develop a team.
* You have demonstrated working knowledge of payroll systems and an understanding of digitalisation processes
* A strong continuous improvement mindset and the ability to work in a fast paced environment
* Excellent stakeholder management skills and able to work with multi- faceted teams
* Ability to apply enterprise bargaining agreements (EBA) at an operational level and review complex legislation and payroll agreements
* Calm under pressure and able to cope with a changing environment as we uplift our digital capabilities
