Your new role
* Collaborates with Operations to identify reliability risks and allocate resources effectively.
* Communicates priorities clearly and appropriately to the local maintenance team.
* Coordinates maintenance engineers to resolve complex issues and engages central maintenance support when necessary.
* Ensures all maintenance activities are completed on schedule and comply with quality and safety standards.
* Organises and leads toolbox meetings and participates in daily production meetings.
* Manages leave, rosters, call-outs, and timesheets for the team.
* Monitors and verifies the quality and quantity of completed work.
* Audits safety systems to confirm adherence to best practices.
* Conducts audits and implements corrective actions based on findings.
* Oversees and controls maintenance expenditure within the local maintenance area.
* Manages material requirements planning and ensures material availability.
* Optimizes stock levels by reducing inventory value, preventing shortages, defining sourcing strategies, and setting logistical parameters for new spares and materials.
* Handles stock replenishment, including placing orders, expediting overdue items, and providing feedback to Purchasing on supplier performance.
* Supports and guides the maintenance team in the effective use of software applications such as SAP.
* Initiates and implements improvements to maintenance software systems.
* Supervises team members, providing technical direction within area of expertise.
* Works closely with maintenance engineers to develop practical solutions for complex technical challenges.
* Coaches and mentors team members across all aspects of their roles.
* Conducts technical assessments of engineers and tradespeople as part of competency evaluations.
* Empowers the team to take ownership of technical issues and supports their professional development.
What you'll need to succeed
* Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Member of Institute of Engineers Australia (MIEAust) or equivalent
* Extensive experience in a similar industry (Petrochemical, Gas Processing or Oil Refining)
* Extensive years demonstrated supervisory/management experience
* Strong SAP skills are a distinct advantage and Intermediate/Advanced MS Office suite experience
