The position of Procurement Specialist supports the execution and management of procurement activities. The role involves developing, delivering and supporting sourcing, subcontract management and purchasing activities through proactive engagement with key team members, stakeholders and the external market to ensure value for money outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
* Developing category plans, sourcing strategies, tender management and evaluation, and contract negotiation;
* Managing contracts, including leading contract review meetings, monitoring key performance indicators and spend management activities;
* Establishing and maintaining strategic relationships with suppliers to drive high quality, cost and delivery performance;
* Identifying and implementing risk management strategies to manage subcontractor risk and ensure supply chain resilience.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* A minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in a relevant Supply Chain role in a defence, manufacturing or resource environment;
* Proven ability to effectively establish and manage contracts with a track record of delivering business value;
* Demonstrated project management skills to manage Procurement projects to agreed timelines and budget restraints;
* Knowledge of strategic sourcing and contracting principles and best practices;
* Negotiation skills for use in contract development and management;
* Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and management of risk;
* Understanding of contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal risk;
* Knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting and business case development;
* Commercial acumen.
