BAS Agent/ Bookkeeper

We are seeking an experienced BAS Agent Bookkeeper to support a family owned business based on the Central Coast NSW (Tuggerah).
This is a contract casual role and must be available on Wednesdays or Thursdays to attend the office. Hours will vary from week to week depending on how busy the business is. We are looking for someone who will take ownership of the financial functions of the business and work alongside the director and small team.
The Role
You will manage all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping and financial administration, including reporting & compliance. BAS agent certification is required for the role.
You will manage all aspects of payroll including timesheets, processing payroll, STP, Super and the new Super Pay Day set to be introduced in July.
Key Responsibilities
* Bookkeeping and account management using MYOB
* Processing of customer receipts, managing customer accounts and chasing debtors
* Processing of supplier invoices, payments and subcontractor accounts
* Weekly payroll and all associated reporting and compliance obligations
* Bank and credit card reconciliations
* General business financial administration
* Prepare and lodgement of all ATO obligations on a monthly basis
* Administrative tasks as required
About You
5+ years bookkeeping experience
* Strong MYOB skills
* Minimum 3-4 years of MYOB experience required
* Solid understanding of the general ledger and accounting procedures
* 3+years payroll experience
* Knowledge of modern awards and the National Employment Standards and putting together employment contracts
* Previous experience with Fuel Tax Credits
* Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
* Good communicator who works well within a small team
* Must have own ABN and insurance as this will be a contractors role.
