SANE is committed to creating a brighter future for Australians affected by complex mental health or grief and loss issues, by ending mental health inequity and social and economic exclusion. We provide free digital mental health support services and run a variety of mental health awareness, grief and loss, stigma reduction, research, and advocacy programs. We support diverse workforce segments, including those living with complex mental health issues, and the broader community. We are circa 100 people with a volunteer work force of circa 160 people.

Working in a dynamic digital-first environment operating 24 hours, the Team Leader oversees the delivery of recovery oriented psychosocial support by managing dynamic, multi-disciplinary and cross-skilled teams, monitoring performance, providing coaching and direction.

Implementing new model of care, driving positive culture and supporting delivery of outcome focused programs. The role oversees a team that is responsible for fostering safe and effective participant engagement in SANE's RecoveryClub; delivering high quality moderation of forums, psychoeducational groups and webinars, asynchronous individual and community engagement and support, 1:1 phone and video calls and phone / webchat enquiries.

This role requires someone who is an experienced leader, strategic thinker, adaptable and innovative, able to think on their feet, provide solutions and improvements as well as build culture and foster positive work relationships.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

* Manage change and drive a culture of continuous improvement in line with organisational goals and strategy
* Monitor service performance, compliance, quality, and knowledge assets, and make recommendations for improvement
* Contribute to in-shift and on-call rosters, offering support, direction and debriefing to staff delivering 24/7 services
* Prepare and contribute to reports for government bodies, funders and internal stakeholders, and facilitate team meetings and wellbeing initiatives.
* Responsible for day-to-day team operations, including roster management, performance and development to ensure RecoveryClub is delivered safely and effectively
* Train, support and supervise staff and third-party providers in moderation practices, incident resolution, and adherence to guidelines and scope of practice
* Provide effective leadership through coaching, guidance, team cohesion, supervision, and support for learning and development
* Work closely with the General Manager to provide input and suggestions for team and department improvement
* Be a trusted source of information, guidance and support in order to provide high quality participant experience
* Manage safety and quality by identifying participants needing higher‐intensity support, handling escalations, and coordinating warm referrals across Programs and Services

About You

* Degree in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology or another relevant field
* Completed a minimum of 5 years post‐qualification supervised practice
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in a leadership role, within mental health or related field
* Experience leading, developing and mentoring a high performing team, to provide high quality outcomes
* Experience in change management, strategic leadership, KPI attainment, embedding processes and systems and uplifting capability
* Experience in risk management, and ensuring compliance with quality standards
* Experience in performance management and coaching
* Experience in online community moderation, especially within mental health or supportive communities
* Experience facilitating groups with a focus on mental health recovery, preferably online group
