Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fire Support Officer to lead the Fire Management function within our Regional Fire Team.
The successful applicant will drive the QPWS&P Fire Program, overseeing essential functions such as planning, preparedness, response, and recovery. They will design and coordinate planned burns, strengthen bushfire preparedness and response, build staff capabilities through training, guide lessons management, and oversee key fire projects and specialised equipment.
This dynamic role requires someone ready to protect Queensland's unique environments. The position involves travel across remote landscapes, collaboration with stakeholders, and representation in high-impact fire forums.
About the Role
* This role supports the region's lessons management program, guides fire-funded projects, maintains specialised plant and equipment, and ensures governance and reporting remain solid.
* The role involves shaping planned burns, coordinating fire operations, supporting bushfire response, and leading continuous improvement and innovation.
* You will represent in internal governance groups and external fire forums, making your voice count in important conversations.
