Staff Specialist in Medicine
This role offers the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art facility delivering 90 additional beds in West Moreton as part of Queensland Health's Accelerated Infrastructure Delivery Program.
The project will deliver a three-storey facility located on Botany Drive, South Ripley. It is located on the Ripley Health Campus and is co-located with the current Satellite Health Centre.
The ward will be operational 24/7 and staffed by a multidisciplinary team. The facility is equipped with internal and outdoor therapy areas with an on-demand food service model to complement therapy programs.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver quality speciality care to patients in a clinical setting including directing the process of assessment, admission, ongoing care, transfer and discharge of patients.
* Develop and implement strategies for quality improvement, research, risk management, service evaluation and strategic service delivery planning.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that promote quality care.
* Participate in education and training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
* Engage with stakeholders to promote effective communication and collaboration.
* Embody the principles of quality in healthcare, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and professionalism.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, patients, and families.
* Act as a positive role model, promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and compassion.
* Provide expert medical advice and guidance to support the provision of high-quality patient care.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of business plans that align with organisational goals.

* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and standards.
Requirements
* Doctoral qualification in Medicine or equivalent;
* Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia;
* Extensive experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a leadership or specialist role;
* Proven ability to develop and implement strategies for quality improvement and service delivery;
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills;
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team;
* Highly developed interpersonal and leadership skills;
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion;
* Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines;
* Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development;
