* Create impactful national technology stories for the ABC
The Role
You'll lead and generate the ABC's technology reporting, producing original, impactful stories across digital, TV, radio and social platforms. You'll uncover and explain major tech developments with independence, creativity and a strong audience focus.
The Job
* Deliver original, breaking and high-impact technology journalism across all ABC platforms.
* Research, write, compile and present stories of significant complexity for all digital platforms, including TV and radio.
* Generate and investigate story ideas with independence, initiative and a strong national focus.
* Develop and maintain a highly engaged contact base across the technology sector.
* Provide live reporting, Q&As and clear explanations on complex issues.
* Work collaboratively within the Specialist Reporting Team and mentor other journalists.
* Ensure all content meets the highest editorial standards, media law requirements, and ABC policies.
* Find and tell stories that reflect the diversity of modern Australia, including outer suburban communities.

About You
You're an experienced journalist with a passion for technology and a proven ability to break significant stories.
You'll have:
* Extensive specialist technology knowledge, demonstrated through a strong track record of breaking stories.
* Outstanding editorial judgement and experience producing complex stories across TV, radio and all digital platforms.
* Superb digital awareness, with a strong grasp of audience behaviour and social trends.
* Exceptional presentation and communication skills, particularly in live environments.
* A proven ability to build and maintain a broad network of contacts across Australia.
