Base Salary $112,628 + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
The University of Sydney is looking for an Associate Finance Manager to deliver a full suite of financial services to a diversified client base within the Sydney Law School and Sydney Conservatorium of Music. In this role you will invest significant effort towards holistically understanding your client groups to proactively deliver operational financial management and accounting services. You will collaborate with other Financial Services staff and relevant areas of the University to provide a consultative and integrated financial service offering.
Responsibilities
* Support the Senior Finance Manager in developing strategic annual plans that identify the current and future key issues and needs for the client portfolio.
* Perform complex financial analysis and draw insights to support client decision‐making.
* Support the development of portfolio activities, budgets and undertake advanced accounting and management reporting using a variety of financial and non‐financial KPIs.
* Work closely with client groups to identify, develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
* Maintain and champion compliance with Procurement and Finance policies and procedures across client groups.
* Undertake other duties as required.
About you
* Has relevant tertiary qualifications.
* Member of CPA Australia, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, or equivalent, or is currently in the process of acquiring membership/qualification.
* Proven ability to provide operational financial insights, sound financial management, decision support, advice and analysis to a varied client group.
* Enhanced relationship‐management skills across all levels of the organisation, instilling confidence and trust across a complex and diversified client portfolio.
* Proactive engagement with key stakeholders to support implementation of strategic transformation and change initiatives and ensure successful implementation and realisation of key outcomes.
* Advanced analytical skills and experience working across large and complex data sets.
* Competency in navigating a complex (matrix reporting) enterprise.
* Experience in interpreting, applying and integrating complex financial policies, external requirements and accounting standards.
